We all have a different view of style. It took me a long time to figure out what defined my personal style, but it was so much fun to research how others perceived beauty along the way. Through my journey of discovering what I liked (regardless of what the fashion police might say) I discovered that there are no best or worst dressed lists. A closet is like a palette of paints that we choose to adorn our canvas *ourselves:).* Your personal style should whisper a little bit about yourself to a complete stranger before you even say a word. A word of advice? Don't always follow high fashion...(been there done that) and I promise you that you'll end up looking at old pictures searching for the nearest trash can!
In honor of premiering the Embellishing Fancies post of The Radiant World of Whimz...I want to share with you some of my PERSONAL style inspiration and icons:
Can't agree more!
Jessica Simpson
I have always been a fan of Jessica's style. I love to look at the way she pieces her outfits together. I can remember in high school meeting a stranger on the beach to get a knock off Louis with my mom and a friend. Those were the days! What is even better is that she has her own line of clothing and accessories!
Kelly Ripa
Oh how I love Kelly Ripa! I drink coffee with her and Regis EVERY morning, and her style never ceases to inspire me. She never looks like she is trying out every the newest fashion trend, and I admire that. She always seems to be wearing something classic that will never go out of style. In fact, a quote from her stylist, Faith Cromas, has been something I always try to keep in mind when shopping:
Faith's approach to styling is both simple and elegant - which is very much reflected in her clothing choices. First and foremost she avoids trends, instead focusing on what's truly special about each individual, making fashion looks that each celebrity can definitively call their own.
It's exactly this philosophy that has created a style sensibility for Kelly that so clearly celebrates her femininity, sense of humor, and the joy for life that she brings to each and every show.

Lauren Conrad
This lady is so admired for her great sense of style that she wrote a book by the title, "Style." I highly recommend this read for anyone! She really gives the reader great advice for defining a personal style while sharing her love of fashion. Lauren is another that goes for the feminine and classy style that I have come to know and love.
Audrey Hepburn
Need I say more? I tend to gravitate toward vintage style. My favorite? The 40's and 50's...I wish I had been apart of that era JUST to wear their amazing A-line dresses that drop down to the low knee. These seem to be so hard to find today, everything seems to get shorter and shorter! Okay...I'm going to get off of my soap box and back to Audrey...Her style is timeless and amazing. Enough said.
I will leave you with a quote:
"For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.
People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.
As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others."

Jackie O
I don't think anybody describes Jackie Kennedy's influence on style better than Cynthia Rowley...
"She taught us that style doesn’t have to be complicated. I remember seeing a picture of her walking in the park by her apartment in a sweater, really simple trousers, flats, and that sort of changed everything for me in a design sense. You can be really fashionable and really simple at the same time.”
