On the Road Again...

Pinned Image
Yep, a bittersweet day...leaving Pennsylvania and traveling home to North Carolina.  Right now, North Carolina means back to school, taking down my Christmas Tree, and a long distance relationship (tRiPlE WhAmmY) but at least I get to see Cade until Sunday  :)  I am going to make the best of it and be thankful that he is HOME.  Pray for safe travels!

2011 in Retrospective

A new year brings excitement for the future and a time to reflect on the past year.  What happened this past year that you will always remember?

We had one of the snowiest winters ever!
(and I loved every minute of it!)

I tapped into my creative side and began this blog!  I had the winter off from school and I spent my time enjoying home and the outdoors, working in flowers, baking and crafting!  :)

I got accepted into the Speech Therapy Graduate program at Western Carolina University
(and made it through the first semster, I will remind you again: 3 more semesters and a summer internship to go!)

I grew closer to God, but not close enough!

My husband got a job that allowed him to be home for a year…maybe it spoiled us but we loved every second of it.  Now he is working in Pennsylvania and I am in grad school...needless to say I am excited for 2013 and we can pick up where we left off!

My husband taught me how to play tennis!  I will miss that this summer...

I got a new ride!

I decided to take “yard sale” to the next level and made over $500 selling clothes on Ebay!

I got to go to the beach twice!

We spent our first Christmas away from home in Pennsylvania...

This year I not only got to go to the #1 Place to Go on my list, BUT I also got to go at the time of year that I wanted to go…CHRISTMAS IN NYC!!!!

God blessed me so much in 2011.  I don't understand why he is so good to me, but I am so thankful for all that he has done in my life and no matter what this year, or any year may bring, but I find so much hope and joy in that "He will never leave or forsake me"...

Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

New Year, New You

                                   New Year
I have really struggled with what I think about NeW yEaR REsOluTioNs...are they only made to be broken?  Are they beneficial?  I still haven't really decided but I do know that there is just something about seeing a new year and new possibilities that I can't resist.  So here are my hopes for the new year...

My 2012 New Year Resolutions:
-Make it through my LAST full year of grad school
-Save money
-See my husband as much as possible (He work in Pennsylvania, I am in North Carolina…)
-Work out more (of course)
-eat “cleaner” & drink more H2o (horrible at the water thing…)
-Read the entire Bible
-PRAY more!
-Be positive!

While many of us are eager to renew and refresh for this NeW yEaR ahead, we need to keep in mind that we have a fresh start each morning that we wake up! We don't have to wait until the clock strikes midnight on New Years Eve to better ourselves...isn't that empowering?  Each day that God gives us is a blessing and a new page in our lives just waiting to be written with achievements, growth, and sweet memories!  Ahhhh I just love the sound of that.  While I surfed different blogs and twitter this morning, I found some great ideas from one of my favorite celebrities, LaUrEn COnRad, about maintaining those resolutions!  She had some great ideas that I must share...

                                                                                        Lauren's Blog<3
"When I say last, I mean right up until midnight on December 31st 2012."

Here’s how I’m going to DO it:
  1. I made sure my resolutions are things that can be measured or checked off. They are all realistic and definitely attainable. I did this because whenever I make vague resolutions like, “Take more chances!” they end up being grandiose statements, which I never follow through with…
  2. I wrote them down right here. I remember things better this way.
  3. I am going to re-read them once a month by setting a reminder on my phone. I don’t know if this is the best idea. It will probably get annoying. At least this way I won’t be able to escape them until they’ve been accomplished.
What do you think?  Would this help you to keep the resolutions you have made?  I think I may try this myself!
Until Tomorrow...

Happy New Year! 2012

Hi wHiMziEs,
It has been a long time since I last blogged and I have graduate school to thank!  Good news is: 1 semester down 3 and a summer internship to go as I journey my way to becoming an SLP and my husband and I can reunite!  This living apart is tough...
I hope to at least make an effort to blog 1-2 times a month extensively just as a way to relieve stress.  I miss it so much!  Since I hope to do it after grad school, I feel it is important to continue as I can, even during this BUSY -_- time!  I hope you all have a FaBuLoUs* 2012 FULL of God's blessings!

My Fair Fido: Dog Days of Summer

Hi whimzies,
I hope you all are having a great day!  I had a job interview yesterday for a waitressing job at a nearby mountain resort.  I am bittersweet about bidding farewell to my "lazy days of summer," however, I am thankful for a possible job opportunity and will be getting Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday's off!  Maybe I can see if my Penny will like something like this for our days off at the lake...hmmmmm

(Sorry about the picture quality)

Think your pooch would like something like this?  You can find these poochie floats at:

Dazzling Abodes and Fabulous Finds

Good morning bloggies!
I had an Internet aggravation yesterday...we have had SO much trouble here lately and are hopefully switching providers VERY soon!  Especially before I start school!  So to make up for yesterday's "Dazzling Abodes" post I combined it with today's "Fabulous Finds".  I am so ready for the beach again, so I focused in on a cozy beach cottage!  I love the decor, everything is refreshingly crisp and clean and definitely inviting!  What do you think?
I love the sail boat above the mantel!

Wouldn't you love to sip some lemonade, lay out in the sun, and catch a good read here?

The baskets and white furniture say "hello and welcome to the beach!"

I just LOVE the sea green chair!

Again...this furniture and the color combinations are PERFECT for a beach cottage!
Classic stripes and fish

Soft pastels are what this girl loves to see on vacation...so relaxing!
This would be my favorite seat in the house...hands down!

I am thinking...family time!

Love the whimsy chandelier!

Cute detailed kitchen!  The grocery sign steals my heart!

Love the hanging lantern and wooden bar!  And the shelves...don't get me started
on shelves!

Time to cue the music...Dreeee-am, Dream, Dream, Dream, Dream!

I found these shoes in People's Style Watch and fell in love immediately.  Wouldn't these be the perfect travel shoes?  I always seem to lose my shoes in the car, and what a pain it is to have to tie up or fasten shoes when you make a pit stop.  I think that these are adorable and better yet, don't they look so comfy?  The only turn-off is the hefty price!  They come in Black, Red, and Stone...

Thanks for joining me today!  I hope you guys enjoyed...May we enjoy each day and realize it as it truly is - A blessing from God.
